In obese Zucker rats, daily oral dosing raised lipolytic activity in fat tissue and cut body-weight gain by more than half within 19 days1.
Obesity suppresses β3-adrenergic receptors, a switch fat cells use to release energy. In obese mice, AOD-9604 brought that receptor’s RNA back to levels seen in lean animals2.
In cell assays it did not compete for the growth-hormone receptor or drive GH-like proliferation, and in mice it raised fat oxidation without intact GH’s effects on glucose3.
What the research shows
Obese rats given AOD-9604 daily for 19 days gained 15.8 g versus 35.6 g in controls, with higher fat-tissue lipolysis.
In a 32-rabbit osteoarthritis model, intra-articular AOD-9604 improved cartilage outcomes, most clearly when paired with hyaluronic acid.
